Increase Brain Power Introduction
Brain power is the core of everything we do. It’s essential in our daily lives. It’s also our ability to make decisions, think, and perform. When we find ourselves lacking in brain power, all the above-mentioned abilities deteriorate, making it harder for us to do them. To increase brain power is to increase your performance in pretty much everything. First, I will explain how brain power works. When we wake up, we have limited reserves of brain power to do our daily tasks, and tackling harder tasks requires more brain power. The more activities we do the more our brain power depletes. Luckily there are ways to increase brain power reserves and restore lost brain power throughout the day! This article will show you multiple ways to increase brain power, no longer will you suffer from low performance!
Increase Brain Power by Saving Brain Power, here’s how
Save brain power by reducing the number of your decisions throughout the day. You can do this by Pre-planning your day by adding a task list that shows what you need to do at each specific time to save your brain power. Just remember, the fewer decisions you make the more brain power you save.
Here are some ways to make fewer decisions: Know what you will wear every day. Have you ever noticed how rich people dress simply? It’s because they save brain power by already knowing what to wear. Plan your meals and stick to a simplistic diet to make fewer choices. Plan out a single pathway you use when going to places you visit often so your brain doesn’t have to decide on the spot. Reduce Social Media as they give you too many decisions which can be taxing to your brain power, for example choosing which story to view on Instagram tackles your brain power directly. Knowing what you are going to do before you do it saves brain power since you don’t waste it by figuring it out on the spot.
Sleep to Restore Lost Brain Power
By sleeping, brain power reserves restore their capacity allowing you to perform again. I recommend a minimum of 8 hours when sleeping at night for a full recovery in brain power. Other than restoring your brain power, sleep has a ton of benefits some of which include: A healthier immune system, so you don’t get sick. Reduced stress and anxiety, and thinking more clearly when you wake up.
One extra tip to restore your brain power via sleep is to take naps throughout the day. I suggest taking naps after you have used enough brain power to see a reduction in performance, that way you maximize the efficiency of the naps you take.
Diet
What you eat is important as it can increase brain power reserves. Here’s a list of foods that increase brain power: Fatty Fish are rich in omega-3 which promotes brain function. Berries have flavonoids which can increase short-term memory while also lowering cognitive decline. Walnuts much like fish are also rich in omega-3 which improves brain function. Coffee has caffeine which boosts focus and makes you think more sharply. Someone once said “If you keep only healthy food in your home, you will only eat healthy food” therefore do so to fix your diet easily.
Meditate
Meditating is like exercise for your brain, it can increase your brain power reserves. Meditation is also proven to help one control his thoughts better which is crucial for saving brain power. Meditating also improves focus, self-awareness, imagination, patience, and one’s attention span. With all these benefits, meditating is a no-brainer!
You can practice meditation anywhere and there are multiple forms of meditation to choose from. 15 minutes a day is enough to see benefits in a couple of weeks.
Exercise
Exercise is proven to increase focus, cognitive health, and memory. If your goal is to increase brain power specifically, I recommend doing cardio exercises such as running and boxing. On the contrary lifting heavy reduces brain power temporarily due to how difficult it is. If your goals require you to lift heavy; go to the gym at night when the day is ending, that way you don’t have to worry about your brain power for the remainder of the day.
Conclusion to How to Increase Brain Power
Now that you know all the ways to increase brain power let’s recap! Brain power has limited reserves and making decisions decreases the reserves. Tackle harder tasks first as they require more brain power. Pre-determine what actions you do daily so you don’t have to think on the spot to save brain power. Restore brain power by sleeping, naps also help with this. Eat foods that are fuel for your brain such as fish and walnuts. Meditate as it can increase brain power reserves; while also saving brain power. Do light exercise, preferably cardio to increase brain power, don’t do heavy exercise early in the day as it can use up brain power; if you plan to lift heavy do it near the end of the day instead.
