Oftentimes we work jobs we do not necessarily enjoy in order to make a living, but this can be quite draining. Especially if done not just for months, but entire years, or even decades. If only there was a way to monetize your passion…

Well I have some good news! it is possible to make money doing what you love. This article is going to be a guide towards finding what your passion is, becoming an expert on it, and making money from doing what you love.

By the end of this you should find your way towards making it in whatever it is you enjoy! No longer will you daydream about monetizing your passion while working a job you hate. Instead you will live from doing it.

 

Finding Your Passion

 

Everyone has a passion, even if they don’t know it yet. Some people enjoy martial arts and physical training. Others have fun by exploring nature, climbing mountains, and seeing wildlife. People such as myself enjoy playing music, and are drawn towards artistry.

Some people have not discovered what they are passionate about yet, but its not too late to do so! You can start when you are young, middle aged, or even old. In this section I will be showing you some ways to find your passion.

First,

I suggest thinking about your interests. Ask yourself, what kind of content do you enjoy watching? What kind of topics do you enjoy talking about? They may be related to your future passion. For example, I listened to music often and came up with the idea of playing an instrument; your passion most likely lies in what you are interested in.

Second,

Make a list of any hobby you can think of. You can also ask your friends for suggestions, as their insight is gonna be useful towards finding your passion. You can even find inspiration by walking around and noticing different shops around you. Some shops have sports equipment which can give you the idea of playing football or basketball, others may have painting equipment which leads you to art, the possibilities are endless!

Third,

FInd out what you are good at by trying hobbies from the list for a month or two. Not only will you find out where you are talented, you will also find what you enjoy doing most. Within the given time frame, you should have a good idea of how much you like or dislike any hobby you tried out.

 

Becoming a True Expert

 

At this point you must have found your passion. What comes next is becoming an expert at it and gaining a lot of experience and knowledge with it. This section of the article will show some ways you can do both of these things.

First,

Set goals and specific timeframes, this can help you get better. I suggest weekly goals for improving in a specific area of your passion for example, if your passion is football you can dedicate a week towards scoring, another towards passing the ball to team mates and so on, however don’t do this obsessively; you can mix it up a bit in order to not get bored of the specific area of your passion.

Second,

Study the greatest people in that field. If my hobby is rapping I’m going to study what Eminem, 2pac, and Notorious B.I.G do. If I play basketball I’m going to study what Lebron James and Giannis Antentokoumpo do. You can also watch interviews from them to learn about their mindset and what they did to become so good at what you also want to do, You can copy their techniques, don’t worry about being similar to them for now, you can always find your own style later.

Third,

Persistence and Patience can transform you from amateur to professional. Have you ever heard of the phrase “It takes 10,000 hours to master something?” Well, it’s very true. you can be great at something, you can be unbelievably talented, but Mastery takes a long time. Persistence and Patience make it so we can eventually achieve mastery. Always remember them as they are the keys towards becoming an expert.

 

Monetize Your Passion

 

Now that you know both what your passion is and have become very good at it, it’s time to find ways to monetize your passion. Depending on what your passion is, there might be multiple ways to make money from it, However not all passions make the same amount of money. In this article I will show three ways with which you can monetize your passion no matter what it is, they range from hardest to easiest.

One,

Become an influencer within the niche of your passion. If your passion is working out, you could try inspiring others to do the same! After reaching a certain audience number you can get paid and live off of sponsorships. This is the hardest one because it requires a big following, but if others have done it, you can do it too!

Two,

upload videos sharing your knowledge on the topic. Do you perhaps know a certain technique or trick for learning something faster? People with the same interest as you are eager to find out! why not share what you have learned online? You can get paid if you reach a decent following or make course tutorials on sites like skillshare.

Three,

Find people who want to learn from you and teach them for money. I had a piano teacher who had 10 students a day, he loved playing piano and he made quite the living from it! You can also do the same with what you have learned over all this time.
